A little bit on who I am

About me

Photography is a passion that I can only describe as the opportunity to unleash my internal energy. I have been practising and learning photography since I bought myself my first camera in March 2004. I have since given the little Minolta dimage Z1 to my baby sister. What a funny looking camera it was.

Nevertheless I got bitten by the bug then and decided to teach myself light, exposure and depth of field and upon moving to UK, I decided to get a Nikon d50. It was my companion on many adventures and did some professional shoots with it as well. Looking back on it, I was such an amateur and I know in years time, I'll look back to now and will think that I was absolutely rubbish. I think i'll just savour the moment now though.

Camden Market

If I tell you that the famous Camden Market in London, UK started with a mere 16 stalls and on Saturdays only. Well, that was in March 1974 and a lot has changed since. It is now home to over 1000 stalls ranging from bread to expensive antiques. Unlike the high street, the traders are predominantly self employed small sole traders or family businesses. A lot of them uphold deep certain values of their own that they bring to their offering. For instance, you can have fully organic food shops, vegan, gluten free to traditional way of working with leather. Some of the things I like about the market.. 1. Coffee Starting your day with a delicious latte made with some nicely roasted coffee beans and creamy textured frothy milk from inside the market itself. Facing the bridge with the clock just behind you is where you an find on your left the entrance to one of the food section of the market. People of Mauritius - Bazar Port Louis

Today is the anniversary of the Independence day of my country, Mauritius. I was born there and lived for 23 years before moving to UK. It's fair to say I hardly spent my adult life in Mauritius. Going there regularly however, I have had the chance to look at the country in a different light completely. It's a great place to live and people are very nice.
